Game Night, Book Launches, and Card Tables

April 22, Wednesday, 18:00–19:30: Activity – Game Night for ages 18–99 at the Eötvös Károly Library, Reading Room, 3rd floor. Love games and literature? Join solo or in teams, depending on sign-ups. Register at szkandrea@ekmk.hu by April 20.
Same day, 16:30: Dorottya Galambosi presents De tudod, jövök hozzád! (But You Know, I’m Coming to You!) in the Kisfaludy Hall. The book tells the story of a little girl raised in hospitals and children’s homes due to a complex illness. By age three she had spent two years in the hospital, when an elderly volunteer took her under her wing for 18 months, through good times and bad. Through their bond, we glimpse the world of hospitals and children’s homes, where Panka believed the people around her formed her whole family.
Also April 22, 16:00–18:00: Lay Down Your Cards! – Card Club for all ages at Eötvös Károly Library – ZUG. All game lovers welcome.

Kids, Dragons, and Djinn

April 23, Thursday, 10:00: Unconventional literature classes with Zoltán M. Kácsor in the Kisfaludy Hall. At 10:00 for grades 1–2: Zabaszauruszok (Gobble-saurus). At 11:30 for grades 3–7: Az utolsó dzsinn (The Last Djinn). School groups are invited to register.

Music Histories and Silent Reading

April 24, Friday, 18:00: Music history talk Messages, Signs, Games, Fragments – an introduction to the world of György Kurtág by Dr. Tünde Mózes-Szitha, Kisfaludy Hall.
April 24, 16:00–18:00: Silent Book Club Veszprém, Eötvös Károly Library – ZUG. Bring your current read, enjoy quiet company, then share thoughts if you like. No assigned book, no pressure—perfect for introverted bookworms.

American Vibes for Teens

April 24, Friday, 14:30–15:30: American Vibes at the library. High schoolers practice English through games, quizzes, and chats on U.S. culture, traditions, and student life. It’s a community, not a class—connect, laugh, and build confidence.

April 25–26: Day and Night of Architecture.
April 27, Monday, 10:00: Is ChatGPT Really My Friend? Melinda Klausz on artificial intelligence for grades 5–8 in the Kisfaludy Hall—student sign-ups welcome.
April 28, Tuesday, 17:00: Music Club Extra in the Dr. László Nagy Hall (Veszprém, Komakút Square 3, old building, 1st floor). A tribute selection from the legacy of jazz guitarist Gábor Szabó, born 90 years ago. We’ll dip into gems by American pianist Bill Evans and the UK funk-rock band Cymande. LP Láz’s László Pallagi showcases the best in rock. Expect tracks and compositions from Dinah Shore, Anouar Brahem, Géza Bereményi, Imre Kőszegi, and Gato Barbieri. Host: Krisztián Kindler. Library collection items will be presented; photos may be taken. All welcome.

Therapy Dogs and Early Joy

April 29, Wednesday, 16:30–17:00: Dog therapy for the very youngest at the Eötvös Károly Library. Meet Travel, the therapy dog. Led by Anikó Jánoska from the Doctor Paws (Doktor Mancsok) Foundation. Kids 0–3 with valid library cards can attend, learning gentle, proper animal handling up close. Bring indoor shoes if it rains.
