Friday, May 1, 19:00, St. Michael’s Cathedral (Szent Mihály Főszékesegyház). The Seraphim of Sarov Male Choir arrives with a deeply authentic program of Serbian and Russian Orthodox liturgical music. Active for over three decades, this ensemble of professional singers appears on opera stages and in leading choirs, delivering a tightly knit, high-level performance. May 7: Gizella Day Festive Organ Concert

Thursday, May 7, 19:30, St. Michael’s Cathedral (Szent Mihály Főszékesegyház). Part of the Várhegyi Organ Evenings series, this Gizella Day concert pairs organ and voice. Organist András Lakner Bognár (Szombathely, Co-Cathedral of the Visitation) joins singer Gabi Gál for a program that fuses the concert organ’s sonority with the subtleties of the human voice. Tickets: $6.80; student/senior: $4.10; season pass (7 concerts): $35.30. Buy at the Biró–Giczey House box office or on-site before the concert.

May 8: Gizella Day Prayer

Friday, May 8, 19:00, Gizella Chapel. Launched at the initiative of Archbishop György Udvardy, this tradition-building prayer hour honors Blessed Queen Gizella, wife of King Saint Stephen and builder of St. Michael’s Cathedral (Szent Mihály Főszékesegyház). The chapel also houses the Gizella relic per the intent of Bishop Ignác Koller, uniting historical and spiritual meaning in one place. Capacity is limited; advance registration required. Note: due to the chapel’s constraints, seating cannot be brought in; attendees should be able to stand for about one hour.
