The renewed Veszprém Castle District offers brisk weekend walks, themed routes, and cozy holiday programs through late fall and Advent, then keeps the cultural drip-feed flowing into 2026 with concerts, contests, and festivals. Most castle walks set off several times a day, and the revamped Biró–Giczey House shines as the Baroque jewel anchoring garden time, a gift shop, and exhibitions that remain free to visit.

Castle Walks: When and What

November 22–23 and 29: Guided Castle Walks at 11:30, 14:00, and 16:00. Themed tours run on weekends. The Light and Devotion Walk visits the Archiepiscopal Palace and Gizella Chapel at 11:30 and 16:00; A Thousand Years’ Path includes the Cathedral, crypt, and St. George’s Chapel at 14:00. On November 30, guided walks run at 14:00 and 16:00, with themed schedules unchanged. All in Veszprém.
December 6: Guided Castle Walks at 11:30, 14:00, and 16:00. Starting point: Biró–Giczey House, the Baroque gem of the district with garden, gift shop, and exhibitions. Themed walks mirror weekend times: Light and Devotion at 11:30 and 16:00; A Thousand Years’ Path at 14:00. December 7: walks at 11:30 and 14:00; Light and Devotion at 11:30 and 14:00, starting from Biró–Giczey House. Tickets and info at the Gift Shop, groups capped at 25 people; exhibitions remain free. November Highlights Around Town

November 6–29: Veszprém Images from the Turn of the 19th–20th Centuries (Veszprémi képek a 19-20. század fordulójáról) at Eötvös Károly Library’s Small Gallery. November 22 brings a Kids’ Corner; Boban Marković Orkestar – Mrak; and Evergreen Veszprém / Let’s Tune In to Advent (Örökzöld Veszprém / Hangolódjunk Adventre), a themed city tour.
