Veszprém’s Castle District is going all-in on guided walks and themed tours from late November through the holidays, with cultural picks across the city to match. Think Baroque gems, candlelit chapels, Advent markets, concerts, kids’ programs, and even a New Year’s Eve ramble with a toast. Here’s what’s lined up from November 2025 into summer 2026.
Castle Walks: Weekends Packed
On November 22–23, 2025, as well as November 29, guided Castle Walks run at 11:30, 14:00, and 16:00. Themed tours include The Path of Light and Reverence: Archbishop’s Palace + Gizella Chapel at 11:30 and 16:00 on Saturday–Sunday, and A Thousand Years’ Journey: Cathedral + crypt + St. George’s Chapel at 14:00 on Saturday–Sunday. All in Veszprém.
On November 30, 2025, Castle Walks start at 14:00 and 16:00, with the same themed tours running as above (11:30 and 16:00 for Light and Reverence; 14:00 for A Thousand Years’ Journey).
Baroque Jewel: Biró–Giczey House
From December 6, 2025, many tours depart from the Biró–Giczey House, the Baroque jewel box of the Veszprém Castle Quarter, where a garden, gift shop, and exhibitions await. On 12/06, Castle Walks at 11:30, 14:00, and 16:00; themed tours as above; departure from Biró–Giczey House.
On 12/07, Castle Walks run at 11:30 and 14:00; The Path of Light and Reverence runs at 11:30 and 14:00; starting from the Biró–Giczey House. Tickets and info at the Gift Shop. Group size max. 25 people. Exhibitions remain free to visit.
Advent Weekends Continue
On 12/13–12/14, 12/20–12/21, and 12/27–12/28, Castle Walks roll out at 11:30, 14:00, and 16:00. The Path of Light and Reverence: Saturday–Sunday 11:30 and 16:00. A Thousand Years’ Journey: Saturday–Sunday 14:00. All depart from the Biró–Giczey House.
