Veszprém rolls into spring with a rich program from the Archdiocese: exhibitions, music, family and kids’ events, guided tours, themed walks, lectures, feast-day celebrations, and church services. The lineup blends art and contemplation with community and tradition—plus a dash of medieval theater under the open sky.
Exhibition: On the Road to Ourselves, On the Road to God
Opening: Thursday, March 12, 2026, 1:00 PM. Venue: Aula of the Veszprém Archiepiscopal College. On view until April 30, 2026. Sister Tünde M. Erzsébet Takács (SAF) brings eighteen modern works that mark a quiet inner journey. For her, painting wasn’t primarily a fine art venture but a still space for moving through a difficult time—where colors, forms, and movements slowly turned into prayer. Each piece pairs with a brief psalm quote and questions to guide reflection, inviting visitors not just to look, but to pause and step toward themselves and God. City: Veszprém.

On Palm Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 PM, join the Live Passion mystery play across iconic Veszprém locations: through the Séd Valley, past the Margaret (Margit) Ruins, up to Benedict (Benedek) Hill. New this year: on Saturday, March 28 at 7:00 PM, Ádám-játék (The Play of Adam) debuts within the Margaret (Margit) Ruins. This Old French mystery play—one of Europe’s earliest known dramas, contemporaneous with Hungary’s Funeral Sermon—portrays the Fall. All are warmly invited: March 28 at 7:00 PM for Ádám-játék, and March 29 from 3:00 PM for the Palm Sunday Live Passion. City: Veszprém.
