Palace Concert and Early April Highlights
April 10 brings a palace concert right in the Archbishop’s Palace. On April 11, join the Litér commemoration for Blessed Bódi Mária Magdolna. Kids aged 7-10 will love the Biblical Role-Playing series, designed to boost social skills and emotional intelligence. Held on Sundays at the Archdiocesan Office’s Gizella Hall, 8200 Veszprém, Jutasi út 18/2. Dates: February 15, March 1, 15, 29, April 12, and 26.
Mid-April Music and Tours
April 14 marks World Day for Librarians with a guided tour of the Koller Library. Catch Martin Baker and Kéméndi Tamás in a joint organ concert at St. Michael’s Cathedral on April 15 at 7:30 p.m.—part of the Philharmonia’s organ subscription series. On April 17 at 3:20 p.m., relive history on a free guided walk (registration for first 20 only) from the Court building to the Prison Visitor Center, led by Fr. Dr. Csernai Balázs. It’s the anniversary of Cardinal József Mindszenty’s (Mindszenty József) return from Arrow Cross captivity as Veszprém’s former bishop.
Late April Festivities
On Monument Protection World Day, April 18, join a specialist tour with Nagy Veronika and G.-Kovács Gábor. At the 10:30 a.m. Mass on April 19, the St. Michael’s Children’s Choir performs, followed by a short jubilee concert celebrating their third anniversary. April 25 at 7 p.m. launches the Várhegyi Organ Evenings I with Kosóczki Tamás. Don’t miss the Biblical Role-Playing on April 26.
Pre-Marital Courses in May and June
Couples prepping for marriage, check out the free Jegyeskurzus (pre-marital course) on May 29-30 and June 5-6. Topics cover marriage spirituality, family backgrounds, communication and conflict resolution, intimacy, male-female differences and pitfalls, plus child-rearing and family life.
