Performing: the Veszprém-based Cantabile Vocal Ensemble (Cantabile Énekegyüttes; conductor: Mária Petrőcz Veres Györgyné) and the CapPuccini Choir of Kaposvár (conductor: Zoltán Szili). March 28–29 – Adam Play and Live Passion
On Saturday, March 28 at 19:00, the program adds something new: the Adam Play, staged for the first time amid the walls of the Margaret (Margit) ruins. This Old French mystery play—among the earliest known European dramas, contemporary with Hungary’s Funeral Sermon—tells the story of the Fall. The tempter overcomes the first couple; alongside punishment comes the promise of the Savior’s advent, a pledge that still frames human existence.
On Palm Sunday, March 29 from 15:00, join the Live Passion, a moving mystery play that walks Veszprém’s iconic settings: through the Séd Valley, across the Margaret (Margit) ruins, and up to Benedict (Benedek) Hill. The experience invites hearts to be stirred by Christ’s Passion, death, and Resurrection. All are warmly welcomed to both the Adam Play on March 28 at 19:00 and the Palm Sunday Live Passion on March 29 from 15:00. Venue: Veszprém.
