Visegrád: Knights’ Games And Feast Await In 2026

Experience Visegrád’s 2026 Knights’ Games and Feast: live medieval duels, royal crowning, hawk flight, and a Renaissance banquet at Solomon Tower and Restaurant—perfect for families and groups.
when: 2026. March 12., Thursday

Mark your calendars for one of the Danube Bend’s most thrilling family experiences: the 2026 Visegrád Knights’ Games and Feast, running every Saturday at noon through autumn in Visegrád. Hosted by the Renaissance Restaurant, the day whisks you straight back to the 14th century—capes, crowns, and clashing steel included. Venue: Solomon Tower (Salamon-torony), Duna-parti út 1.

At the start, the knights of the Order of Saint George pick a king and a queen from the crowd, robe them in royal cloaks, and crown them on the spot. On the monarch’s command, armored fighters parade in and show off their precision and dueling skills with authentic medieval weapons, vying for the royal couple’s favor. Expect bold, realistic bouts, a wink of humor, and the dramatic flight of a royal hunting hawk. After the show, guests can try medieval weapons themselves with the knights’ guidance.

Pros
+
Super family-friendly: kids get picked as “royalty,” there’s a falcon show, and you can try medieval weapons under supervision
+
Runs every Saturday at noon through autumn, so it’s easy to slot into a Budapest/Visegrád Danube Bend itinerary
+
Clear English support (plus German and Italian), so you won’t miss the story or safety briefings
+
Easy day trip from Budapest: Visegrád is a well-trodden Danube Bend stop with buses/boats, and driving takes about an hour
+
Price is reasonable for a full show plus a big multi-course feast (roughly $38 adults, $19 kids)
+
The setting—Solomon Tower—adds real medieval vibes you won’t get at generic dinner-theaters
+
Compared to U.S. Renaissance fairs, this feels more authentic and compact: real castle tower, local order of knights, and a focused, choreographed program
Cons
The subject (Order of Saint George/Visegrád Knights’ Games) isn’t widely famous internationally, so it might not be on your radar
Visegrád is known to European travelers but less so to first-time U.S. visitors who stick to Budapest only
Hungarian isn’t required, but outside the show you’ll find patchier English at smaller shops/transport, so a few phrases or translation app helps
Registration and payment only through the Renaissance Restaurant via email, and dates can change—less plug-and-play than typical U.S. attractions
