If you book in time, you won’t miss one of the Danube Bend’s most thrilling family programs, running through fall in Visegrád every Saturday. Hosted by the Renaissance Restaurant, you’ll time-travel straight into the Middle Ages. In the mood? Sign up and check out the Visegrád Knight Games.
Live Medieval Tournament
Members of the Order of Saint George stage a spectacular tourney, showing how warriors fought for the king’s and queen’s favor in 14th-century Visegrád. At the start, the knights choose a king and a queen from the audience, dressing them in royal cloaks and crowning them.
At the king’s command, the knights march in and, with authentic medieval weapons, prove their aim and dueling skills before the royal couple and their guests. Duels are realistic, exciting, and sometimes cheeky, reviving the courage and bravado of medieval knights. A royal falcon flight adds extra flair. At the end, guests can try the weapons with the knights’ help.
