where: 2025 Visegrád, Vár

Step into the Middle Ages in Visegrád, where armored warriors clash, falcons wheel overhead, and a king’s feast caps the day. Hungary’s most beloved medieval program is back for 2026 with guaranteed shows every Saturday and extra dates on selected days. Pair the adrenaline of the arena with a lavish royal banquet, and you’ve got a weekend you won’t forget.

A living medieval arena in the Solomon Tower

The action unfolds at the Solomon Tower, a dramatic 13th-century keep with panoramic views over the Danube Bend. In this historic setting, the Saint George Knightly Order brings the 14th century roaring to life: steel rings out, duels escalate, and authentic weapons and costumes turn time travel into spectacle for every age. The open-air stage at the tower sets the scene for fast-paced demonstration bouts, archery precision, and a touch of humor that keeps the crowd cheering. A royal hunting hawk flies during the program, and at the end, guests can handle and try medieval weapons under the knights’ guidance.

Every Saturday, you’re part of the story

Each show begins with the knights choosing a king and queen from the audience, complete with cloaks and crowns. At the monarch’s command, the knights process in to prove their mettle, showing off archery and combat skills for the royal couple and their court. The duels balance realism and drama with punchlines and bravado, celebrating the fearlessness of medieval chivalry—minus the bruises. Before or after the performance, there’s an option to dine at the Renaissance Restaurant (Renaissance Étterem), a short stroll away.

The royal banquet at the Renaissance Restaurant (Renaissance Étterem)

After the clang of swords, feast like royalty. The Renaissance Restaurant’s (Renaissance Étterem) vaulted, candlelit halls and costumed servers set a rich medieval mood, while generous platters and heritage recipes bring the period to the plate. It’s a standout choice for families, friend groups, company team-building, or any special occasion. Dishes arrive in earthenware, pours are generous, and the ambience whisks you back to Visegrád’s golden age.
