Vörs kicks off Advent on November 30 with a 2 p.m. Mass, then rolls into weeks of markets, exhibitions, and glowing traditions through January. The village Advent Fair runs November 30–December 21, while the beloved Vörs Nativity (Vörsi Betlehem) lights up November 30–January 25.
Exhibitions That Stretch Into January
Enikő Radics’s textile doll showcase runs November 30–December 6, daily 10 a.m.–4 p.m. From November 30–January 6, Dancing Shepherds, Singing Angels (Táncoló pásztorok, éneklő angyalok) presents puppet Nativity scenes from the ethnographic collection of the Marcali Museum. Margó Menyhért’s textile sculpture exhibition runs November 30–January 8, open 10 a.m.–4 p.m., closed Wednesdays. Retro fans can dive into Csaba Horváth’s RETRO toy exhibition December 1–January 6.
Advent Rituals, Lights, and Music
Masses continue on December 7, 14, and 21 at 2 p.m. Kids meet Santa on December 6 at 5 p.m., and the village gathers for a Christmas celebration on December 13 from 5 p.m. On December 20, the Christmas Heritage of Puppet Dancers (Bábtáncoltatók Karácsonyi Öröksége) program fills St. Martin’s Church from 3 p.m., followed by the magical Fénymenet light parade the same day.
