On November 8, 2025, the Bock Winery in Villány (Villány) will host its iconic St. Martin’s Day New Wine Festival (Szent Márton-nap Újborfesztivál) for the 21st time. This lively annual event celebrates the arrival of their signature St. Martin’s wine (Szent Márton bor), made every year since 1997, and attracts guests with a blend of tradition, music, delicious food, and an opportunity to purchase exclusive Bock wines at discounts of up to 45%.
Tradition, Tasting, and Tunes
The festivities kick off with a bang in a heated outdoor tent in the Bock Courtyard (Bock Udvar), where live music keeps spirits high all night. You’ll enjoy performances by groups such as Kacaj, Ricsi Herczog, Vasovski Live, and the Happiness Duo, all contributing to a festive atmosphere. Doors open at 4:45 pm. The Happiness Duo starts the show at 5 pm, followed by a welcome speech and traditional wine blessing by József Bock. Expect games hosted by Miklós Szakál, followed by a buffet dinner featuring unlimited food and new wine — the buffet opens at 7 pm and the party food continues until 10 pm.
Exclusive Wine Tasting and Steep Discounts
A highlight is the premium wine tasting in the Bock Dome (Bock Kuppola), set to the music of Ricsi Herczog, where you can savor the 2019 Franc Essencia and 2019 Merlot Special Reserve. Guests with event tickets have a special chance to purchase select Bock wines — including Orange Wine 2024, Late Harvest 2023, Cabernet Sauvignon Selection 2020, Villány Franc Ördögárok Selection 2016, Bock Cuvée 2017, and Capella 2011 — at 45% off, with a minimum purchase of six bottles per wine. The sale runs from 5 pm on Nov 8 to noon on Nov 9.
Evening Highlights
The fun continues with more live performances, a raffle draw at 9 pm, and closing sets that keep the celebration going past midnight. Early bird tickets cost $94 per person and are available online only. It’s a standing reception — so don’t expect table reservations. Cold food is served from 5 pm, hot food from 7 pm, with everything available until 10 pm. The event is private, and by attending, you agree that photos may appear in event galleries. Want the detailed menu? Check back soon — it’s still under wraps! Don’t miss out on this Villány (Villány) wine celebration.
