December 30, 2025 is set for the 29th annual MUSIC-WINE (ZENE-BOR) celebration, headlined by the globally unique 100-Member Gypsy Orchestra (100 Tagú Cigányzenekar) on Jagelló Street in Budapest. This festive gala concert has become a yearly ritual, dazzling audiences with virtuoso Gypsy music, beloved classical pieces, and folk music reinvented in the group’s unmistakable sound and style.
An Evening of Tradition and Fireworks
The double-act show brings back iconic melodies from Ferenc Lehár and Imre Kálmán, performed by star soloists from the Operetta Theater. As the grand finale, expect a breathtaking fireworks display as József Lendvai Csócsi leads the orchestra through their legendary renditions of Nightingale (Pacsirta) and the Radetzky March. The event also marks a special milestone: the orchestra celebrates its 40th anniversary with a performance that’s as much about the spectacle as it is about the music.
Not Just for the Ears—A Gastronomic Gala
Guests are welcomed with a drink, and those craving more than musical delight can indulge in a four-course festive wine dinner or a gourmet cold platter, each expertly paired with local wines. Executive Chef Ákos Kosztán’s menu features goose liver torchon with candied orange chutney, bacon-wrapped mangalica (Hungarian indigenous breed) pork tenderloin with potato gratin, and pumpkin-seed choux with raspberries, plus fresh breads, white, red, and rosé wines—vegetarian options are available upon request.
