Dive into a playful, hands-on afternoon at the Seasons of Magic: Creative Home Decor Workshop at the Bikal Experience Estate. Step out of the daily grind and craft a showstopper for your home with premium materials. Under expert guidance, you’ll create a gorgeous door wreath or table centerpiece and actually enjoy the process—whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned crafter, or a total pro.

Dates and vibe

Choose from these dates: January 6–8, 13, 14, 16, 19–23, 27–30, 2026; February 3–6, 10–13, 17–20, 24–27, 2026. Sessions run 10:00–13:00. One decor piece typically takes about 1 hour, so arrive by 12:00 at the latest or you won’t be able to finish. The small-group format means plenty of attention for everyone. The atmosphere is friendly and judgment-free—come as you are.

What you can make

Choose a door wreath or a table centerpiece (base shapes: round, rectangular, or oval). The materials reflect the current season, but you can also opt for a timeless look you’ll use year-round—it’s your call.

Who can join

Adults and school-age kids are welcome. Younger children can take part with parental supervision.

Location and access

Workshops are indoors at the Page Training Hall (Apródképző) on the Puchner Estate, set across more than 34.6 acres of ancient trees at the foothills of the Mecsek Mountains, in a valley-laced, rolling countryside. Free parking is available at the Puchner Castle Hotel reception. The neighboring Experience Estate brings the Middle Ages to life, complete with the famed Inn to the White Swan (Fogadó a Fehér Hattyúhoz) by the southern gate and the swan lake—think medieval decor, aromas drifting across the grounds, and a menu to match.

Price and booking

Participation fee: $74.80 per decor piece (the fee applies to each finished piece, not per person—perfect for a mother–daughter project). Sign up by phone by 9:00 on the day of your chosen session.

Organizers reserve the right to change dates and the program.

2025, adrienne

Pros
+
Family-friendly vibe with adults, school-age kids, and even little ones (with supervision) welcome, so it’s easy to make this a low-stress outing together
+
Price is per finished piece, not per person, which is great value for parent–child or couple projects
+
Hands-on, guided crafting means no experience needed—beginners can still take home something display-worthy
+
Short 1-hour build time lets you pop in during a longer Mecsek/Pécs countryside day trip
+
The Puchner Estate setting is gorgeous and atmospheric, with a medieval-themed neighbor area and on-site eats for a full-day experience
+
Free parking at the Castle Hotel reception makes it simple if you’re driving
+
Unique compared to typical U.S. craft workshops thanks to the estate backdrop and medieval flair, so it feels more “vacation-only” - Bikal and the Puchner Estate aren’t widely known to U.S. travelers, so you’ll likely need to plan logistics from a base like Pécs or Budapest
Cons
Public transport can be slower and involve transfers; reaching by car is much easier for foreigners
Limited international name recognition for the workshop itself, so it’s more a hidden gem than a bucket-list item
Hungarian may be helpful for phone booking and on-site details; English may be available but isn’t guaranteed
