where: 9730 Kőszeg, Fő tér

Every September, Kőszeg (Kőszeg) transforms into a party city for the Kőszeg Harvest Festival (Kőszegi Szüret) and the International Brass Band Meeting. This three-day celebration, now more than 30 years old, gets just about everyone involved. The highlight is a lively harvest parade on the last Saturday of September, with around 1,000 locals dressing up in vibrant costumes and taking to the streets alongside schools, civic groups, and businesses.

Three Days of Music and Mayhem

Festivities kick off on Friday evening with a brass serenade. On Saturday morning, visiting bands—between 6 and 10 each year—are welcomed with music. Throughout the day, Kőszeg (Kőszeg) is buzzing with brass performances, folk music, and traditional and modern dance shows spread across the city. Every restaurant offers live brass music at lunchtime. The parade sets the tone, ending with a brass band show at the main festival tent. Sunday features kids’ programs, more open-air concerts, and wraps up with bands playing lighter, crowd-pleasing tunes.
