Every Sunday, Lake Balaton offers a unique trip to the Káptalantóti Handicraft Market, with options to depart from Fonyód by speedboat or from Balatonfenyves on the Szent Benedek cruise boat. Both routes lead to Badacsony, followed by a shuttle bus straight to the bustling market, where you have 90 minutes to shop and explore on your own.
Morning Journey, Shopping Spree
Departures begin on Sundays at 10:00 am, with guests returning to the starting points by 3:00 pm. The Fonyód speedboat market tour costs about 25 USD per person, while the Balatonfenyves cruise package is 33 USD. Both require advance booking and a minimum number of travelers—10 from Fonyód, 15 from Balatonfenyves.
Taste Local Wines or Sip Syrups
After the market, two afternoon itineraries await. Guests can visit the Folly Arboretum and Winery for 90 minutes of free time, featuring tastings of three local syrups or wines. Alternatively, there’s a wine-focused Badacsony trip, stopping at both the Istvándy and Laposa wineries, each offering three varieties for you to sample.
