Every Friday and Saturday, the Jonathermál Spa and Adventure Bath in Kiskunmajsa (Kiskunmajsa) opens after dark. From June 1 to August 31, hours are 8:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.; from September 1 to May 31, 7:30 p.m.–12:00 a.m. Saturday nights feature rotating programs. The three-generation complex lets everyone recharge in a landscaped, sport-friendly setting, with outdoor and indoor thermal, slide, wave, and adventure pools. On-site lodging connected to the spa makes a late dip easy to pair with an overnight stay. Night admission is a flat 3,500 HUF.

Adventure Bath

Open year-round during regular hours, including Friday and Saturday nights, the adventure zone caters to thrill-seekers and chill-out crews alike. Attractions include a hill slide, bubble beds, a water cave, geysers, bubblers, pounding neck-and-back jets, a wild water corridor, a whirlpool, a rock cascade, and a water mushroom. It’s a winter-to-summer crowd-pleaser for all ages. Since February 2009, the adventure pool hall has featured a heated, comfort-enhanced section for cozy winter lounging. No extra ticket needed: access is included with the daily bath pass.

Thermal and Wellness

The medicinal spa boasts a 30-year legacy. In the 1960s, hydrocarbon exploration brought a bonus: 72°C sodium–hydrogen carbonate thermal water, first harnessed in 1984. Beyond the original outdoor pools, an impressive timber hall now houses 36°C and 38°C therapy pools, a 25-meter lap pool with a deck-level surface, a Finnish sauna, an aroma sauna, a steam bath, and a cold plunge. Outdoors, a year-round medicinal pool welcomes guests seeking rest and recovery.

Pros
+
Family-friendly vibe with slides, wave and adventure pools, plus mellow thermal areas so kids, parents, and grandparents all find their groove
+
Night hours (till midnight) feel special and beat summer heat, great for a relaxed post-dinner activity
+
Price is clear and cheap for U.S. travelers (flat 3,500 HUF) compared to American waterparks or spas
+
On-site lodging connected to the spa makes it easy to turn night bathing into a mini getaway
+
No Hungarian needed for basics; spa context is visual and staff at larger Hungarian baths usually manage simple English
+
Easy by car with Hungarian highways; parking at spa complexes is typically straightforward
+
Unique versus typical U.S. waterparks: thermal-healing pools and saunas add a wellness angle, closer to Icelandic/European spa culture than American attractions
Cons
Kiskunmajsa isn’t a globally known destination, so it’s off most U.S. tourist itineraries and requires extra planning
Public transport from Budapest is doable but not seamless (train/bus combo and local taxi), so travel time can be longer than city baths
Limited fame of the event itself internationally; you won’t get big headliner programming except the rotating Saturday nights
Some signage and announcements may be Hungarian-only, and late-night hours may be less convenient for families with very young kids
