A walled old town, clanking armor, and hands-on history: Bikal’s Élménybirtok invites families to step into the Middle Ages with interactive programs, knightly thrills, and musical shows all summer long. Set across 18.5 acres, the site blends craft streets, legends, live demonstrations, and animal encounters with theater, tournaments, and creative workshops. Everything runs rain or shine, and kids aren’t just watching—they’re part of the adventure.

7346 Bikal, Rákóczi St. 22. The season bursts to life July 3–5 with the Kurtizántábor retreat, then rolls on with themed days and evening shows through late July. On-site: photos, videos, lodging, food and drink, and information help desks.

Kurtizántábor: three days for women

July 3–5, a women-only retreat led by Zina (Ágens) explores womanhood—mother, lover, partner, wife, friend—and, above all, Women’s Time. Expect humor first, because surviving it all with straight logic is impossible. Group bookings get discounts, and yes, it’s designed to be a fabulous gift for friends or a partner.

Weaponry with Knight Tamás

July 6 and July 27: a gripping, interactive journey into real medieval combat. Learn the rules of knightly duels and the art of swordplay; explore the mysteries of flails, throwing spears, cross-shaped throwers, spikes, and why armor evolved across eras. Ask well, and you might even get to handle the weapons.

Music, humor, and one-man wonders

July 8: Még flúgosabb zenetörténet – így hallgattok Ti (Even Crazier Music History – This Is How You Listen), the wild, witty sequel to a hit series. Singer István Orlik (Luke) takes you on a comic, genre-hopping sonic tour.
July 15: A fegyverhordozó – egy másik Don Quijote történet (The Squire – Another Don Quixote Story) shifts the spotlight to Sancho Panza, with irony, humor, and Luke’s astonishing voice guiding the tale from the loyal sidekick’s view.
July 20: Tárulj Szezám! – egy utazó kalandjai (Open Sesame! – Adventures of a Traveler). “Luke, a jesterly rogue with a voice to make you weep—Gregorian, rock, baroque, spiritual—he sings it all.” Musical tales from a mysterious traveler’s bundle, for kids and grown-ups alike.
July 22, 19:00–20:20: Úr-kurzus – párkapcsolati előadás Zinával (Gent’s Course – Relationship Show with Zina), the companion to Kurtizánképző. A candid, humorous decoding of what women and men say—and why. Learn the script of arguments, the in-relationship override, and the overcooked “I only love you.” Recommended ages 15–99. Bring your partner.

Time travel Thursdays

July 9, 16, and 23, 10:30–18:00: Időutazás a középkorba (Time Travel to the Middle Ages). Family days packed with craft workshops, interactive games, and a spectacular joust. Wander the 18.5-acre park, discover the Magic Painter’s House, the Witch’s House, and the Smithy; meet furry and feathered residents; dive into mysteries and tales. On Craft Street, see blacksmiths, bookbinders, leatherworkers, goldsmiths, gingerbread bakers, woodcarvers, and more at work—and peek into their trade secrets. Snack stops include the White Swan Inn (Fehér Hattyú), the Bakery, and the Ice Cream Shop (open in good weather). Programs run in any weather.

Fairytale Saturdays

July 11 and July 25, 10:30–18:00: Mesés szombatok az Élménybirtokon (Fairytale Saturdays). A full medieval-family lineup: jousting, theatrical shows, a giant playground, interactive games, and crafts. Visit workshops, shop handmade pieces, and step into character at the Tailor’s Costume Rental—princess, knight, noble, or court jester. Refuel at the Inn; events proceed rain or shine.

National Horse Theater: The Legend of the Unicorn

July 11, 18, and 25 (20:00 on the 25th): the National Horse Theater (Nemzeti Lovas Színház) presents Az Unikornis legendája (The Legend of the Unicorn), a musical that gallops beyond earthly borders to the bond between horse and human, and a symbol of hope, truth, and the power that lives in us if we believe. Two 50-minute acts with a 20-minute intermission and a fully stocked buffet.
Cast highlights: Tibor Pintér as Eryndor; Márk Mohácsi as Arion Orion; Dávid Gazdik as Dr. Veyron; Jenifer Ilyés as Selene; Sándor Bencze as Kael Orion; Andrea Lőrincz as Lyra Orion; Athina Papadimitriu as Morwena; Dorka Armida Szilágyi as Seraphis; and Ákos Csizmadia – Doque voicing Luminar, the speaking unicorn.
