Tiszafüred, a favorite gateway to the Lake Tisza region, rolls out a full year of culture, food and drink, outdoor fun, and family-friendly experiences. Across multiple venues in and around the 5350 postal area, the city mixes thermal baths, fishing, and waterside programs with music festivals, craft markets, boat routes, and community events. Here’s what’s coming up from July through December 2026—and where to stay and eat while you’re at it.

Headliners in July

From July 9–11, Tisza-tó Feszt takes over Tiszafüred with concerts and lakeside vibes. On July 10–11, Tiszafüredi Halasnapok—an entirely free family festival—celebrates fish in all forms with community programs. July 11 stacks even more: the 9th Festival of Tisza Fish Dishes (IX. Tiszai Halételek Fesztiválja) puts traditional river fish dishes in the spotlight, while the Tiszafüred Antiques and Crafts Market (Tiszafüredi Régiség és Kézműves Vásár) brings an antiques and crafts market to town. Also July 11–12, hop the scheduled passenger boat service on Lake Tisza for breezy sightseeing by water. And on July 12, the 2nd Twins’ Meeting and Family Day (II. Ikertalálkozó és családi nap) at Halas Square turns into a twins’ meet-up and family day.

Dino Park, Fitness, and Fight Nights

Dino Park Tiszafüred runs weekly throughout summer with lifelike, scientifically grounded dinosaur exhibits that actually move and make sound. It’s billed for all ages and returns in sessions July 6–12, July 13–19, July 20–26, July 27–August 2, August 3–9, August 10–16, August 17–23, and August 24–30. Meanwhile, “Szeretem torna” senior cardio fitness pops up July 14, 21, and 28. On July 18, Blackout K-1 delivers a striking-focused fight card, with a second date set for August 30.

On the Water and Around the Lake

Scheduled Lake Tisza boat services run July 11–12, July 18–19, July 25–26, August 1–2, August 8–9, and August 15–16, giving visitors multiple weekends to plan a cruise. On August 1, the Lake Tisza Festival / Nation Awakening – The Greatest Hungarian (Tisza-tavi Fesztivál / Nemzetébresztő – A legnagyobb magyar) layers in culture, followed by the Lake Tisza Festival’s musical lake-circling cycling tour the same day. When the sun dips, Sunset Beach Party kicks off August 1–2 for night owls.

Markets, Camps, and Clubs

Tastes and Treasures Producers’ and Crafts Market (Ízek és Kincsek Termelői és Kézműves Piac) returns July 19 and August 16, a great stop for artisan foods and handmade goods. The Dalma Danca dance club runs a summer camp July 20–24, and chess fans can join the Chess Club (Sakk klub) on July 31. That same day hosts a voluntary blood drive (“Önkéntes véradás”), and a lifestyle-change meetup (“Életmódváltók klubja”) is set for July 30.

Rounding out the month: Tiszavég Day (Tiszavégi Nap) on August 30.

Get festive November 27 with an Advent preparation program at the same venue, and light the First Candle on the Main Square November 29—the kickoff to Tiszafüred Advent, which runs November 29–December 20.

December: Advent to Epiphany

Santa pops into the Pál Kiss Museum December 4 for a kids’ program. The Second Candle lighting is December 6, another Advent prep day lands December 11, and From St. Lucy’s Day to Epiphany (Luca naptól Vízkeresztig)—a youth folk dance show by the Lake Tisza Art School—takes the stage December 12. An Advent producers’ and craft fair unfolds December 12–13, with the Third Candle on December 13 and a 19th-century Christmas program for children at the Pál Kiss Museum on December 18. The Fourth Candle lights up December 20 on the Main Square.

Where to Stay: From Floating Houses to Folk Charm

Hide away on Lake Tisza at Kormorán Marina (Kormorán Kikötő), which offers six lodging types—on land, on the water, and even up in the trees. Think floating houses, stilt houses, and waterside huts with serene, tucked-away vibes. Tisza Balneum Hotel blends modern comfort and nature on the waterfront, great for romantic weekends, family downtime, or business events, with premium two-level stilted apartment houses designed for big families or friend groups. Dieter’s Camping sits right by the Tiszafüred beach and thermal baths, about 164 feet from the lake, with a revamped kitchen and stricter cleaning standards. Albatross Port’s (Albatrosz Port) marina has a 2,000 m2 campground with its own beach area, water sports rentals, restaurant, and shops—plus quick access to town and the thermal spa.

Diófa Apartments place you near both the center and the water in a calm green setting. A family-friendly guesthouse offers three separate apartments for up to 15 guests, a fruit-treed yard, and fully equipped, self-catering comfort about 0.62 miles from the shore. Another option: fully serviced one- to one-and-a-half-room apartments just 164 feet from the thermal beach, each with shower, WC, AC, microwave, fridge, and TV, plus indoor/outdoor cooking and secure parking; three supermarkets and three restaurants sit within 1,640 feet, wellness is 492 feet away, and the lake is an easy five-minute walk.

The Black Stork Courtyard (Fekete Gólya Porta) features two buildings split—and optionally joined—by a covered community space, honoring the classic farmhouse style that’s becoming rare around Tiszafüred. For a rural detour, head to Kócsújfalu, a hamlet of around 160 souls set in the heart of the puszta, alive with birds and storks. The Oven House and Neighbor’s House (Kemencés Ház és Szomszéd Ház) at Stork Castle Courtyard (Gólyavár porta) lie halfway between Tiszafüred and Hortobágy, at the gate of Hortobágy National Park—15 minutes by car to Lake Tisza one way, the Nine-Arch Bridge the other.

Where to Eat

Plane Tree Restaurant (Platán Étterem) pairs international and regional flavors with a sweeping lake panorama. In summer, grab a table on the waterside terrace or grill terrace and watch the Lake Tisza sunset over dinner.
