Easter Weekend Kickoff: April 4 Family Day and Shows
Easter Family Day takes place at the ForrĂĄs Children’s and Youth House on April 4, with tickets from $5.50 to $5.50. That same day, Bambi – bĂĄbmusical hĂșsvĂ©ti kĂŒlönkiadĂĄs (Bambi – Puppet Musical Easter Special), based on Felix Salten’s tale, brings the little fawn’s forest adventures to life. Born deep in the woods on a spring day, Bambi learns life’s rules and dangers with his mom and pals, facing loss before his dad, the Forest Prince, prepares him for adulthood. Presented in two acts with dazzling visuals and catchy tunes by director SzƱcs RĂ©ka for its 10th anniversary. Also on April 4, FISH! rocks Broadway Monkey Music Hall with guests Bankrupt + Kozmosz. The VII. Hungarikum Piknik spans April 4-5, celebrating Values – Tradition – Gastronomy, where Bull’s Blood (Egri BikavĂ©r) joins hungarikum festivitiesâEger’s flagship red earned the nation’s top heritage title in 2017 as the first red wine.
Art Exhibitions Light Up: Late March to Early April
From March 31 to April 5, the MindhĂĄrom exhibition spotlights three Hungarian-born photo legends who reshaped the art: AndrĂ© KertĂ©sz (most successful), LĂĄszlĂł Moholy-Nagy (most valuable), Robert Capa (most famous). Their rare, iconic works come to Eger. Running March 31-April 4, VizuĂĄlis kommunikĂĄciĂł tervezĂ©se idĆben Ă©s tĂ©rben & A fiatal festĂ©szet-szobrĂĄszat-grafika (Visual Communication Design in Time and Space & Young Painting-Sculpture-Graphics) showcases 120 posters and animations from V4 universities’ design professors and students, diving into cutting-edge trends. Open Wednesday-Saturday 12-6pm, free entry. On April 10, SportolĂłk reflektorfĂ©nyben: Kiss Norbi Ă©s TĂłth KrisztiĂĄn MĂĄrk profiles seven-time European champion racer Kiss Norbert, Hungary’s most successful race car driver ever, plus TĂłth KrisztiĂĄn MĂĄrk. MolnĂĄr Ferenc Irodalmi Szalon: Hölderlin features Kukorelly Endre and SzabĂł Csaba. April 11 brings the Buch Tibor Ă©s barĂĄtai concert, a soul-stirring jam with top musicians, and DeĂĄk Bill Gyula at Broadway Monkey. Hungarian Poetry Day at BrĂłdy SĂĄndor Library displays verses across Eger streets and Heves county libraries, plus literary afternoons for sharing favorites or musical ones.
