Kids and grown-ups craft birds, flowers, and snowdrop fairies to celebrate spring and holidays in a joyful, hands-on afternoon. Immediately afterward at 5pm in the Nagyterem, join the free Re-Folk Zenekar for a Moldavian Csángó dance house. Kids start at 5pm, adults at 6pm, with dance teacher Hardi András guiding the moves.
Little Balaton (Kis-Balaton) Tours and Outdoor Adventures
From March 13 to 15, dive into guided tours at the Little Balaton (Kis-Balaton) Visitor Center to Diás Island (Diás-sziget), the István Fekete (Fekete István) memorial site, and Matula’s hut – options include your own car, golf cart, or canoe. From March 9 to 15, enjoy sauna sessions at Helikon Hotel, while outdoor adventure games let you explore Keszthely’s landmarks through whirlwind quests. 1848–49 Revolution Commemorations March 8-15
Honor the 1848–49 Revolution and War of Independence with citywide events. Main ceremony: Gather at Main Square (Fő tér) at 2pm on March 8, parade to Balaton Museum (Balatoni Múzeum) by 2:30pm, festivities in the garden at 3pm. Mayor Dr. Tóth Gergely gives greetings; speaker Bojár Iván András from 10 Million Trees Foundation. Performers include Zalai Balaton-part Concert Wind Band, Helikon Choir, Nagyváthy Folk Dance Ensemble, 379th Resurrection Scout Troop, Zalaegerszegi SZC Keszthelyi Asbóth Sándor Tech School, Gavalérok és Dámák of Keszthely, and Balatonfelvidéki Radetzky Hussar Association.
