Every year, Bogács (Bogács)—a town famous for its thermal baths—transforms into a buzzing hub of celebration with its Harvest Festival (Szüreti Mulatság). On September 20, 2025, visitors can indulge in fiery local wines, lively music, dance, and the unmistakable aroma of autumn. The event promises a vibrant atmosphere, a handcrafted goods market, and the very best wines crafted in the centuries-old cellars carved right into the rhyolite tuff (riolittufa) hills. Stroll along the ancient cellar rows, soak up history, and discover wine-growing traditions passed down through generations.
Where to Stay: Options for Every Taste
Bogács (Bogács) has perfected the art of hospitality. At the heart of it all is the Yurt Resort (Jurta Resort), striking with its trio of round, yurt-style buildings, each designed for larger groups while still offering smaller, private rooms. Five duplex houses with ten apartments offer comfortable stays, and both the yurt and one apartment house are accessible to all guests.
Creekside Apartments (Patak-party Apartments) are the latest addition, set on the west side of the Bogács Medicinal and Beach Bath (Bogácsi Gyógy- és Strandfürdő) near the back entrance. With eight upstairs studios—seven double rooms (extra beds available) and a family suite with two rooms—the apartments can accommodate up to 25 guests in total. It’s just a short stroll through the guesthouse entrance to enjoy the spa.
Year-round relaxation is possible at the Thermal Camping and Cottages (Thermál Camping és Faházak), located north of the spa and connected to its lush park. This sprawling area can hold around 250 tents and RVs, all shaded by stately trees. Cozy wooden cabins, also open through the winter, offer a snug alternative for those who prefer a roof over their heads.
The renovated Thermal Guesthouse (Thermál Vendégház) now provides superior comfort with nine newly refurbished rooms—eight doubles (one fully accessible) and a spacious family suite made up of two interconnected rooms. Completely rejuvenated to achieve the “Three Star Guesthouse” rating from MSZÉSZ, the building also features a modern 50-seat conference room, ideal for business gatherings, team-building sessions, or family reunions.
The Thermal Hotel (Thermál Hotel, Apartments) is split between two buildings on either side of the bath: the east (Building A, by the main entrance) and the west (Building B). With 18 rooms—2-, 3-, and 4-bed options—many of which can accommodate extra cots, guests have ample flexibility.
Cozy Rural Retreats and Family-Friendly Choices
Acacia Guesthouse (Akác Vendégház) sits on a peaceful street close to both the sports field and the wine cellar rows. Each room has its own bathroom, WC, spacious living area, well-equipped kitchen, cable TV, and Wi-Fi, providing a homely oasis for groups of 6 to 8. The garden is perfect for kids or leisurely BBQs, with secure parking and a covered terrace—ideal for families and friends.
Ildikó Apartment Guesthouse (Apartman Ildikó Vendégház), a standalone house, offers both rooms and apartments on a quiet village street close to the main baths and lively cellars. Here, up to 12 guests can relax in comfort, enjoy garden grilling, play ping pong, and take advantage of free parking—all within Wi-Fi reach.
For those seeking tranquility, another guesthouse just 400 yards from the spa promises peace away from traffic, accommodating up to 12 people in four rooms. Spacious communal kitchens allow guests to prepare their own meals, while every room comes with a private bathroom, and the property includes a sprawling, park-like garden.

Let yourself be carried away by hits from the last 30 years. If you love the music of the ’90s, 2000s, or today’s chart-toppers, the party’s playlist covers it all. The region’s culinary delights are also on proud display. Among traditional country classics and seasonal specialties, enjoy a hearty lunch or dinner along the Bogács Wine Cellar Row (Bogácsi Pincerow) and savor award-winning wines from Bükkalja and the Eger region. Take in the atmosphere of a wine bar with nearly three centuries of tradition—now boasting a fresh, modern twist.
Bacchus Wine Bar—proud member of the certified Bükkalja Wine Route Association—serves up year-round tastings and live music. The Committee’s mission since 1996 has been to promote and introduce quality wines from the Bükkalja region, support local producers, and foster the relationship between wine, gastronomy, and the arts.
Wildflower Restaurant (Vadvirág Étterem), a family-run spot with deep-rooted traditions, offers a welcoming haven for those seeking flavorful food, excellent wine, and soothing coffee in a cozy environment. Their motto says it all: “A place where your stomach and soul rejoice.”
