Expect thrilling festivals, fun concerts, theater shows, exhibitions, and tons of cultural, family, and kids’ events throughout the season. It’s the perfect excuse to visit any season for beach vibes and action-packed days.
Senior Joy Dance Kicks Off
Starting April 6, every Monday at 3pm, head to Civil House at Main Square 1 for Senior Joy Dance. Shake off the winter blues with easygoing moves tailored for seniors – pure fun and fitness on the main drag.
On April 6, the Easter Bunny Festival lights up Main Square from 10am to 6pm. Watch falconry and archery demos, join Easter circle dances and traditional sprinkling with Balaton Dance Ensemble and Tarsoly Band. Kids recite Easter poems at 10:30am, more archery at 11am, falconry at 2:30pm, and Farkasházi Réka and the Tintanyúl rock a kids’ concert called Tárul a világ (The World Opens) at 4pm. Ongoing all weekend long: Easter crafts, Lavender Playhouse and Creative Workshop, Manófalvi Adventure Castle with tricky games, traditional Easter eats, gastro stalls, wine terrace, and artisan market on Friday through Monday, 10am-6pm.
The full Easter Bunny Festival spans April 3-6, transforming Siófok into a family adventure park with crafts, games, laughs, and spring surprises right by the lake. Boat trips run April 3-6 too, cruising Lake Balaton. Over at Siófok’s Big Beach, Balaton Beach Bunny Party from April 3-6 packs in bouncy castles, carousels, sweet treasure hunts, Ferris wheels, table tennis, bumper cars, slides, and electric kid cars for ages 3-6.
Adventure Games and Boat Rides Galore
April 6-12 brings the thrilling Outdoor City Explorer Adventure Game – grab friends or family for hours of excitement discovering Siófok landmarks. Sightseeing boat tours (sétahajózás) run April 7-10, then boat excursions (hajókirándulás) April 11-12 and 18-19, sightseeing boat tours again April 13-17 and 20-24.
April 8 features a book launch: Victims of History Writing, or Defamed Women in History by writer, blogger, and women’s history researcher Budai Lotti. Free entry at 5pm in BRTK Library’s lecture hall. Next day, April 9 at 6pm, Egerszegi Akusztik plays a musical poetry tribute at the Water Tower’s lower terrace on Main Square – rain moves it to BRTK Library. Free show for Poetry Day.
Poetry Power with Hobo and Gryllus
Double dose of Hobo on April 10 at 7pm in Kálmán Imre Cultural Center’s Teátrum Kávéház: Tudod, hogy nincs bocsánat (You Know There’s No Forgiveness), channeling poems by József Attila. “I read his works like holy books, sometimes seeing my own thoughts,” says Hobo, who’s toured Hungary and beyond hundreds of times. Tickets $8 as part of Spring Festival and Poetry Day. Kids get Gryllus Vilmos concerts same day: 10am for preschool and grades 1-2, 2pm for grades 3-4, both free with online registration in the Cultural Center.
Balaton Bellydance Festival rocks April 10-12, all charity again with workshops Friday afternoon and evening hafla dinner-dance downtown. Saturday: four workshops in various styles from top teachers, then a huge gala with local stars doing Disney-themed shows.
Gastro Markets, Zorán, and Butterflies
Balatoni Gastro Market pops up April 12 and 19 at Zamárdi út 37. Zorán headlines Spring Festival April 15 at 7pm in the Cultural Center’s theater – the legend’s 2026 tour packs hits and surprises, always sold out. Tickets $33. April 17 at 4:30pm, Gyuris Rita (aka Plant-Protecting Rita online) demonstrates live and pinned butterflies and caterpillars, sharing their colorful world and life cycles, at BRTK Library kids’ section. Magic, Theater, and Tree Planting Finale
Illusion Masters return April 18 with fresh acts at 3pm and 7pm in Cultural Center theater: Zee Zeus for big illusions, Kristály Márton’s water orb magic, Habók János the social media magician king, and prize-winning sleight-of-hand whiz Bognár Krisztián. They’ve dazzled Vegas, NYC, Beijing, Dubai, Paris, Monte Carlo – live, no camera tricks, audience involved. Two 50-minute shows with intermission, for ages 8+.
Theater heats up: April 20 at 6pm, Libikóka (Seesaw) – William Gibson’s black comedy by Art-Színtér. Gittel (Kardffy Aisha) and Jerry (Kerényi Miklós Máté) teeter on love’s edge, directed by Csiby Gergely. Tickets $11 balcony, $13 floor. April 21 at 7pm, Varsányi Anna’s Frida (musical romance) stars Lukács Melinda as Frida Kahlo, spoofing her love with Diego Rivera: “He snores like hell but his jowls look cute spilled on the pillow – like a fat tree frog awake.” Tickets $7.
