On Wednesday, April 8 at 5 p.m., catch writer, blogger, and women’s history researcher Budai Lotti at the BRTK Library’s lecture hall for “A TÖRTÉNELEMÍRÓK ÁLDOZATAI, AVAGY MEGRÁGALMAZOTT NŐK A TÖRTÉNELEMBEN” (Victims of History Writing, or Slandered Women in History). April 9: Acoustic Poetry Night at the Water Tower
Thursday, April 9 at 6 p.m. brings Egerszegi Akusztik to the Water Tower’s lower terrace on Main Square (Fő tér) for a musical show celebrating Poetry Day. If it’s rainy, it moves to BRTK Library at Main Square (Fő tér) 2/A. Free entry in Siófok.
April 10: Hobo’s Powerful József Attila Tribute
Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m., Hobo performs “Tudod, hogy nincs bocsánat” (You Know There’s No Forgiveness), based on poems by József Attila, at Kálmán Imre Cultural Center’s Teátrum Kávéház. It’s part of Poetry Day and the Spring Festival. “I read József Attila’s works like holy books, and sometimes it feels like my own thoughts are written down. The show’s goal is to draw you in and make you think more deeply,” says Hobo from 1991. He’s toured the country and beyond, performing it hundreds of times. Tickets $8 USD.
April 10 Kids’ Concerts with Gryllus Vilmos
Also on April 10, Gryllus Vilmos presents two Poetry Day gala shows at Kálmán Imre Cultural Center. At 10 a.m. for preschoolers and grades 1-2; at 2 p.m. for grades 3-4 and all ages. Free but requires online registration in Siófok.
April 10-12: Balaton Bellydance Festival
The 2026 Balaton Bellydance Festival is back as a charity event with intensive workshops and shows. Friday afternoon workshop, then evening hafla dinner and dance in the city center. Saturday: four workshops in various styles from top teachers, followed by a big gala featuring Hungary’s best dancers in a Disney-themed spectacle. All in Siófok.

April 18: Masters of Illusion Show
Saturday, April 18 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., the revamped “Az Illúzió Mesterei” (Masters of Illusion) returns to Kálmán Imre Cultural Center’s theater with new acts who’ve rocked Vegas, New York, Beijing, Dubai, Paris, and Monte Carlo. Live magic with Zee Zeus (grand illusions), Kristály Márton (water orb artist), Habók János (magician with a huge social media following), and Bognár Krisztián (award-winning sleight-of-hand artist). No camera tricks—illusions happen right in front of you, even with audience help. About two 50-minute acts with intermission; recommended for ages 8+ in Siófok.
April 20: Dark Comedy Seesaw
Monday, April 20 at 6 p.m., Art-Színtér presents William Gibson’s “Libikóka” (Seesaw), a black comedy at Kálmán Imre Cultural Center’s theater. Gittel (Kardffy Aisha) and Jerry (Kerényi Miklós Máté) struggle to balance their relationship at a turning point, unsure of their own or each other’s intentions. Can love stop the seesaw?
