Balatonfüred is gearing up for an explosive spring and summer in 2026, packed with festivals, concerts, cultural happenings, foodie feasts, and family adventures along the Lake Balaton shore. From April 3 (a Friday) through late July, multiple venues across 8230 Balatonfüred host non-stop action. Boat cruises, movie screenings, poetry nights, and car shows keep the vibe electric. Ongoing attractions like Zelna Winery’s Szevasz Terasz wine terrace from April 3-26 kick off the terrace season with panoramic views and top Hungarian wines as part of the nationwide Magyar Bor (Hungarian Wine) campaign spanning four weekends and nearly 100 wineries.
April Poetry Surge and Memorials
The festivities kick off on April 9 with Örökség (Heritage), a chat with Kossuth- and József Attila Prize-winning poet Mezey Katalin. Hungarian Poetry Day arrives on April 10 with Énekelt versek (Sung Poems). That same day at 3 p.m., honor Sándor Kőrösi Csoma at his statue on Tagore Promenade (rain location: Kisfaludy Gallery), organized by Balatonfüred Municipality and Kovászna Sister City Association. Wreath-laying, speech by councilor Böröcz István (Tourism Association president), and performances by Kék Balaton Folk Choir led by Bónyai Mária. In the evening at 7 p.m., enjoy a Dixie and Latin show at Balaton Leisure Center. April 11 features Költészet napi matiné – Kárpát-medencébe fújt gondolatok (Poetry Day Matinee – Thoughts Blown to Carpathian Basin) at Szőcs Géza Literary Salon. Holocaust Remembrance Day memorial takes place on April 16.

The 8th Hungarian Hairdressing Championship at Balaton Leisure Center April 18-19 showcases women’s bridal hairstyles, creative colors, braiding; men’s barber cuts; makeup for occasions/weddings; nail gel and extensions. Free entry, hosted by master hairdresser Hajas László. Arácsi értéknap on April 19 at Arácsi Community House (Arácsi Népház) from 3 p.m.: values handover, Törő Balázs on local folk architecture, live music táncház by Barátok band with dancer Vastag Richárd, free sandwiches for dinner and shared Arács wine by Arácsért Foundation. Anima Musicae – Hegedűs szeszélyek (Violin Caprices) on April 20 costs $19-$25. Ultrabalaton runs April 23-26.
