The 7th Boglart Festival returns to Balatonboglár from August 26 (Wednesday) to 30 (Sunday), 2026, at Szabadság utca 28, 8630. This family-friendly folk and world music festival and camp welcomes fans to Babel Camp right on Lake Balaton’s shore. It’s a mix of festival, folk music camp, music industry forum, and showcase. Days focus on music learning through workshops, while evenings feature bands alternating between two stages, followed by dancing till dawn in the folk pub.

Irresistible Festival Vibe

Boglart’s magic comes from blending music camp and festival: daytime lessons, nighttime dances and concerts. Far more than just a series of gigs, it’s an inspiring creative space and community experience where learning, music, and Balaton summer harmony shine. Year after year, it stands out in Hungarian and international festival lineups by uniquely fusing camp immersion with festival thrills.

Star Lineup, Workshops & More

Newly announced acts include Belgian Enara Navaira, Senegalese Afrikora, Istrian Veja, and Hungarian favorites Okos Viola and Obadu, plus festival hosts Góbé. Performers often double as daytime teachers, covering everything from Moldavian and string folk techniques to music industry insights in workshops. Evenings feature dance houses followed by world music-electronic afterparties. After last year’s buzz, the showcase block returns for domestic and international pros to connect and brainstorm.

Score Tickets Early

Early bird festival passes, combo tickets, 48-hour passes, and daily tickets are super cheap now through mid-November, before the full lineup is announced. Discounts are available for under-18s, over-64s, and teachers. If signing up for courses or the showcase and eligible, combine discounted festival, combo, or daily tickets with course passes for the best deals. Free entry for under-10s.

Pros
+
It's super family-friendly with free entry for kids under 10, discounts for under-18s, and a chill vibe by the lake perfect for families.
+
Lake Balaton's sunny shores make it a awesome summer spot for swimming and relaxing between music sessions.
+
Features cool international acts like Belgian and Senegalese bands alongside Hungarian faves, so it's got global appeal.
+
Tickets are dirt cheap, especially early bird deals and combos, way easier on the wallet than U.S. festivals.
+
The unique mix of daytime workshops, evening concerts, and dancing feels like a mini Burning Man meets folk camp, but way more affordable and less crowded.
+
Easy to reach by train from Budapest airport or city center – just a couple hours on comfy public transport, or drive if you rent a car.
+
No Hungarian needed for the main fun; international performers teach workshops and stages have English-friendly vibes.
Cons
Folk-world music camps aren't huge internationally like Coachella or Lollapalooza, so it might feel niche if you're not into that scene.
Balatonboglár is a hidden gem, not as famous to U.S. tourists as places like Prague or Croatia's coast.
Workshops might lean Hungarian-heavy in spots, requiring some basic phrases or just winging it with gestures.
Smaller scale than massive U.S. or UK fests, so fewer big-name headliners if you're chasing stadium-level hype.
