For the 29th time, Budapest’s legendary MUSIC-WINE (ZENE-BOR) celebration will light up December 30, 2025, with a festive gala like no other. The world-famous 100-Member Gypsy Orchestra (100 Tagú Cigányzenekar) is set to take the stage once again for its season finale—an annual New Year’s Eve tradition that has become a mainstay on the city’s cultural calendar.
Orchestral Magic Meets Operetta Favorites
The orchestra’s repertoire is an intoxicating mix of virtuosic Gypsy music, beloved classical favorites, and unique folk arrangements, all delivered with the signature “100-Member” sound. This year brings another treat: highlights from Ferenc Lehár and Imre Kálmán, brought to life by the celebrated soloists of the Budapest Operetta Theatre (Operettszínház). As always, bandleader József Lendvai Csócsi will lead the ensemble through the iconic Nightingale (Pacsirta) and the rousing Radetzky March, capped off with a dazzling fireworks display.
Gastronomy in Harmony
Guests are welcomed with a drink. If you crave culinary delights as much as music, you’re in luck: choose between a festive four-course wine dinner or a gourmet cold supper platter, both paired with wine and commemorating the orchestra’s impressive 40th anniversary.
The main dinner menu features goose liver torchon with candied orange chutney and mangalica ham, guinea fowl consommé, bacon-wrapped mangalica tenderloin with potato gratin and porcini sauce, and a pumpkin seed choux dessert with raspberries. The cold supper platter includes goose liver torchon, mangalica ham, salmon gravlax, goat cheese tart, eggplant tartare, and salads. Vegetarian options are available upon request. All dishes are crafted by Executive Chef Ákos Kosztán.
