March 5–8, 2026, the 18th Budapest (Budapest) Architecture Film Days takes over the city, a tradition since 2007 built to spark dialogue between cinema and architecture. This year’s selection ranges from Canada to South Africa to Japan, exploring big questions: what future awaits us, how much of today’s knowledge we’ll still need, and whether technology or human adaptability will ultimately shape our environment. Expect films that zoom from megacities to microhabitats and from speculative futures to lived urban realities, with stories that probe climate resilience, housing, public space, and design ethics—all through a filmmaker’s lens.

When and where
The festival runs Thursday to Sunday, March 5–8, 2026, at venues across Budapest (Budapest), gathering architects, cinephiles, students, and the generally curious for screenings and post-film talks.
Why it matters
Beyond showcasing international premieres and local gems, the event treats the city as a lab: how we live together, what we build, and what we choose to preserve. Bring questions; leave with bigger ones.
