Feast on goose like a true local as ARAZ Restaurant hosts its St. Martin’s Day (Márton-nap) Goose Days from November 11 to 17, 2025, right in downtown Budapest. This week-long event brings classic St. Martin’s Day dishes and special menus to the heart of the city’s 7th district, but you’ll need to book a table in advance to join the festivities.
Gourmet Goose Galore
Start with a rich goose ragout soup with wild mushrooms or a zesty gingered goose consommé with matzo balls and smoked breast ($7.50 each). For appetizers, there’s goose liver pâté on sweet brioche, wine-spiced pear, and onion jam ($12.30). Main courses feature crispy goose leg with pumpkin strudel and marzipan-plum cabbage ($17), classic cholent with stuffed neck and quail egg ($15.70), and a pulled goose burger topped with onion jam and spicy pear ($16.30).
Sweet Endings & Extras
For dessert, choose from sugar-free goose cake, chestnut cream slice, or flódni (layered Hungarian pastry) with quince ice cream ($8.30 each). A festive set menu, complete with young wine, is available for $32.40 per person (plus 12% service charge). Free parking is offered in their Nyár Street (Nyár utca) garage.
