The Music-Wine (Zene-Bor) celebration is returning for its 29th edition on December 30, 2025, cementing its place as one of Budapest’s most beloved year-end traditions. The highlight? A sensational gala by the world-famous 100-Member Gypsy Orchestra (100 Tagú Cigányzenekar), the only orchestra of its kind, dazzling audiences with their signature sound.
A Night of Classics and Folk
This two-part spectacle brings together virtuosic gypsy music, famous classical pieces, and unique folk arrangements, all performed in the unmistakable style that only the 100-Member Orchestra can deliver. In keeping with tradition, this year’s program spotlights beloved melodies by Ferenc Lehár and Imre Kálmán, performed by celebrated soloists from the Budapest Operetta Theatre (Operettszínház). The finale, led by chief violinist József Lendvai Csócsi, promises essential favorites such as The Nightingale (Pacsirta) and the rousing Radetzky March, all wrapped up with a spectacular fireworks display.
A Feast for Every Sense
Guests are welcomed with a drink, and those choosing the full experience can savor a festive wine dinner or a cold plate, accompanied by wines to celebrate the orchestra’s 40th anniversary in both sound and spectacle. The four-course VIP menu features foie gras torchon with candied orange chutney and mangalica (Hungarian heritage pork) ham, guinea fowl consommé, bacon-wrapped mangalica tenderloin with gratin potatoes and porcini sauce, and a pumpkin seed choux dessert with raspberries—all curated by Executive Chef Ákos Kosztán of Novotel Budapest City.
