Zséda – Ünnep “20 After”

Sunday, January 4, 2026, 19:30
New Year’s Concert at the Vígszínház
Guest: Attila Kökény (Kökény Attila)
Two decades ago, Zséda’s album Ünnep conquered hearts and became a must-have of the holiday season every year. In December 2025, to mark the 20th anniversary, Zséda launched a nationwide tour to relive the most beautiful moments, intimate evenings, sparkling lights, and the season’s magic—and to write new chapters together. The tour’s closing show lands at the Vígszínház.
The night revisits the album’s most unforgettable tracks, keeping Christmas’s colors, flavors, and moods with us for one last moment before handing the stage to New Year’s cheer. The Vígszínház’s grand halls will brim with songs; there will be dancing in the boxes again, with a riot of energy onstage and in the audience alike.
Ünnep “20 After” isn’t just a concert—it distills the winter holidays into memories, desires, starlight and stories, magic and love, good spirits and dance. It’s an evening for togetherness, when the soul dresses up to celebrate. Let’s meet and celebrate—through songs, from the heart and with spirit.

East–West Station (Kelet-nyugati pályaudvar) — Cseh Tamás Night

Tuesday, January 27, 2026, 19:30
Géza Bereményi (Bereményi Géza): East–West Station (Kelet-nyugati pályaudvar)
Footnote to a future history book.
Cast: Ákos Orosz (Orosz Ákos), András Tóth (Tóth András), Áron Zoltán (Zoltán Áron)
Musicians: Márk Kovács (Kovács Márk) — saxophone, Sándor Laczi (Laczi Sándor) — cello
Dramaturgy: Áron Zoltán (Zoltán Áron), András Tóth (Tóth András)
Music: Tamás Cseh (Cseh Tamás), János Másik (Másik János), Áron Zoltán (Zoltán Áron) and performers
Vizi meets Ecsédi. That’s where it all begins. Bereményi wrote their story, and Tamás Cseh performed it in two parts, in two Hungarys: 1979 (Frontátvonulás) and 1992 (Nyugati pályaudvar). Now the tale is fused and refashioned by three young actors in a concert-theater format shaped entirely by the creators, with the author’s dramaturgical support.
How do Vizi and Ecsédi fare in ’79 and ’89 Hungary? What obstacles do they face? What answers do they give—or get—to the core questions: Who am I? Where am I? And the one they barely dared to ask: Why am I?
The show features songs from Bereményi–Cseh’s Frontátvonulás, Nyugati pályaudvar, and Bereményi–Cseh–János Másik’s Levél a nővéremnek 2., with additional music by Áron Zoltán.

Pros
+
Family-friendly vibe in a classic theater setting—seats, sightlines, and a festive mood make it easy to bring teens or culture-curious kids
+
Budapest’s Vígszínház is a landmark venue in a central, safe district, so it’s easy for first-time visitors to feel comfortable
+
Tickets are affordable by U.S. standards (roughly $19–$42), good value for a big-house concert experience
+
Easy to reach: tram 4/6 stops right outside on Szent István körút, plenty of taxis and rideshares, and straightforward by car with nearby garages
+
No Hungarian required to enjoy the Zséda New Year concert—music and atmosphere carry the night even if you don’t speak the language
+
Nice timing for winter trips: keeps the holiday glow going in early January and gives you an evening plan during a quieter travel month
+
Offers a very local slice of Hungarian pop and cult music—something you won’t find replicated on typical tourist circuits - The artists (Zséda, Cseh Tamás repertoire) are iconic in Hungary but not widely known internationally, so casual U.S. visitors might lack context
Cons
The Cseh Tamás “concert-theater” night leans on Hungarian lyrics and history; non-speakers may miss narrative depth
Vígszínház is well-known locally, but foreign visitors may be less familiar with it compared to headline venues like the Opera House
Compared with big New Year concerts in Vienna or London, production scale is more intimate and local rather than a global marquee event
