Don’t miss one of the Danube Bend’s (Dunakanyar) most exciting family events – book now for Visegrád’s Knightly Games and Feast every Saturday in autumn 2026. Organized by the Renaissance Restaurant at Duna-parti út 1, this time-travel adventure to the Middle Ages kicks off at noon sharp at the Solomon’s Tower (Salamon Tower). The Knights of the Order of Saint George recreate 14th-century battles for the king and queen’s favor right in historic Visegrád.
How the Tournament Unfolds
The knights select a king and queen from the crowd, draping them in royal cloaks and crowns. On the king’s command, armored riders march in, showing off their aiming and dueling skills with authentic medieval weapons to the delight of the royal couple and guests. Duel after duel showcases the knights’ bravery and daring – realistic, pulse-pounding, and sometimes hilarious. A royal hunting falcon’s flight adds extra flair, and afterward, everyone gets hands-on time trying the weapons with the knights’ guidance. The show is presented in Hungarian, German, English, and Italian; other languages available with an interpreter. Groups of 30+ can book any slot, with meals before or after at the restaurant.
Detailed Program Lineup
The program starts at 12:00 with a historical talk inside the Solomon’s Tower (Salamon Tower), followed by rooftop views. At 12:30, the knights’ tournament begins with drinks like white wine or apple juice right by the tower. Then at 13:30, head to the Renaissance Restaurant for the royal feast: creamy tarragon venison stew with onion potato dumplings; whole roasted turkey thigh, honey-glazed pork ribs, panko-crusted chicken breast fillet, crispy potato slices, chive mayo, honey-smoke sauce, and apple-braised cabbage; finished with an ice cream sundae. Drinks not included.
