No fees mean anyone can join to learn new skills, grow personally, or just soak up community vibes. April 8: Spring Buzz Day – Like Camp!
Lower elementary kids, get ready for Tavaszi zsongás (Spring Buzz), a full-day blast of spring fun. Hike in nature, play high-energy outdoor games, dive into crafts, and chow down on a tasty included lunch. One day packed with adventures, games, and creating—pure joy in Ócsa.
April 10: Roma Culture World Day Dancehouse
Celebrate Roma Culture World Day with Ócsa’s rich music and dance heritage in a guided táncház (dance house) at Egressy Gábor Leisure Center’s chamber hall, starting at 6:30 p.m. Expect vibrant moves and tunes that honor this special day.
April 11: School Prep Fun and Board Games
Seregély Erika, a 25-year veteran teacher at Ócsai Halászy Károly Elementary School, hosts playful school-prep sessions for pre-K kids in small groups. Build key skills for a smooth start—50-minute Saturdays, 10 sessions for $140 total. Later, hit the Kocka és Társasjáték Klub (Lego and Board Game Club) at Egressy from 2 p.m.-7 p.m.: build creatively, dominate board games, and let loose if you love constructing or competing.
Loud Fridays in the Bistro

April 18 Community Cleanup and Kids’ Dance Party
Tegyünk együtt Ócsáért! (Let’s Make Ócsa Better Together!) cleanup starts at 8:30-9 a.m. at Egressy and wraps up with snacks from 12:30-1:30 p.m.—make Ócsa cleaner together. That night, Bolhicirmi – Táncoló Talpak Turné (Dancing Paws Tour) brings 40 minutes of live kid chaos: familiar hits, original bops, interactive laughs, and surprises from Bolhi and Cirmi.
April 25: Folk Houses Day
Kifordítom befordítom… Tájházak napja (Folk Houses Day) from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., free entry. Honor traditions, costumes, and ancestors’ patterns—learn the past to pass it on.
April 29: Péter Felméri’s Kincugi Stand-Up
Catch Péter Felméri’s solo show Kincugi, hosted by Dániel Said at Egressy (Dumaszínház style). Tickets $16-$18.
May 3: Moms at the Folk House
Édesanyák a tájházban (Moms at the Folk House) for Mother’s Day: kids, women, and men craft felt folk doll goodies for moms (or yourself) amid the costume doll collection. Best gift? Time together creating.
May 8: Ócsa Cultural Days Kickoff
ÓKN 50 jubilee opener: chat with Földiné Hajdu Anna (who dreamed it up 50 years ago), plus acoustic sets from Attila Kökény and Viktor Rakonczai. Honors the past and launches a month of music, literature, theater, health, sports, faith, and fun—from rock to opera, folk to pop for all ages.
