when: 2026.07.08., Wednesday
where: 2112 Veresegyház, Búcsú tér
Pest County’s biggest cross-arts summer bash, Mézesvölgyi Nyár – the VERES 1 Színház Summer Festival – rolls into Veresegyház in 2026 with hit shows, top actors, and a stacked open-air lineup spanning theater and concerts. Organizers promise a mix of genres throughout the season and reserve the right to change dates and programs.
July highlights
July 8 brings A Pál utcai fiúk (The Paul Street Boys), a two-part musical adaptation of the classic coming-of-age tale. On July 12, the family favorite A dzsungel könyve (The Jungle Book) takes the stage with fresh energy. Then, a true coup: July 22 marks the world premiere of Csengetett, Mylord? (You Rang, M’Lord?), a stage adaptation of the cult TV comedy, debuting in Veresegyház.
August crowd-pleasers
On August 7, Anconai szerelmesek (Lovers of Ancona), a musical comedy, sets the mood, followed by the sunny spin-off Anconai szerelmesek a Balatonon (Lovers of Ancona at Lake Balaton) on August 11. To close things out, August 15 spotlights Egy életem (One Life), an autobiographical stand-up evening with Imre Csuja.

Cons
–
Most shows are in Hungarian, so non-speakers will miss jokes and lyrics unless surtitles are provided
–
Veresegyház isn’t a globally famous destination, so less context for first-time visitors and fewer tourist services in English
–
The festival’s subject mix is locally known; titles like Anconai szerelmesek won’t ring a bell internationally
–
Date/program changes are reserved by organizers, which can complicate tight itineraries compared with more standardized festivals in the US or UK
