Get set for playful Jewish adventures at Budapest’s Zsilip Center, a buzzing two-story playhouse loaded with learning rooms right in the heart of the community. Located at 1137 Budapest, 13th District, Újpesti rakpart (Újpest Embankment) 1., this spot kicks off Zsiliputi programs on April 5, 2026 (Sunday), blending games and learning about Jewish traditions. Kids dive into fun while picking up customs that stick for life—perfect for families looking to connect. With events rolling through the month and beyond, it’s a hotspot for joyful discovery.
Sunday School Revival: Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School
Sunday kids’ programs are roaring back at Zsilip, launching as the refreshed Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School! Hundreds of children who filled their Sunday mornings here years ago still gush about the memories of all those shared games (and clever, playful learning sessions). Now reborn under this name, the Sunday Jewish study group returns to the Zsilip Center’s playhouse and study rooms. A young, pumped-up team opens the doors from 10:00 to 12:30 for every kid and teen ages 4-14. Divided into age groups, the sessions allow them to prepare together for holidays, learn about mitzvot, explore traditions, and absorb those core values that guide a lifetime. Little ones, budding teens, or those gearing up for Bar or Bat Mitzvah—this program’s tailor-made just for you! Catch it on April 5 (Sunday), April 12 (Sunday), and April 19 (Sunday), all in Budapest.
Friday Night Family Vibes: Péntekecske (Little Friday) Friday Evenings
Light up Friday nights with Zsilip’s mini Shabbat welcomes in the Zsiliputi playhouse—Shabbat receptions for the little ones with a madricha, and for the bigger kids with Rabbi Glitzi. While adults soak in Rabbi Glici’s teachings in the synagogue, children get hands-on fun led by a madricha: discussions on the weekly parsha, Shabbat, and the current holiday, all spiced with pictures and tons of games. Kids who pay attention snag gifts, and there’s even a raffle to sweeten the deal! Bring the whole family and learn together during Shabbat. These happen on April 10 (Friday), April 17 (Friday), and April 24 (Friday), all in Budapest.
A total of 14 events are lined up, with more dates coming soon. Organizers reserve the right to change times and programs!
